Local Fishing Crew Wins Big
Fish for a Cure Results
It’s been a big year for Brian and Stephanie Heller, owners of “Alternating Currents”. The season began with their acquisition of a new Weaver 43 that was built right here in Deale, MD. From there they went on to SMASH their own personal best in fundraising for Fish for a Cure. Their crew raised an astounding $60,110 towards a record-breaking $500,000+ total for 2018. The fishing gods smiled down on them on the day of their tournament for all of their hard work. They took home first place!
Since it’s inception, Fish for a Cure has raised an estimated 2.3 million dollars for the advancement of cancer research. The non-profit organization also offers support services for patients and families. Services include nurse navigation, education, genetic counseling, support groups, social work and psychology services.
Herrington Harbour Marina Resorts is proud to be the home port for “Alternating Currents” and their excellent crew. Thank you to the Hellers and the many other men and women who participated in the 2018 Fish for a Cure Tournament.
