Boater's Toolbox - Feb. 7, 10 am - 12 pm

Herrington Harbour will be hosting a free online seminar, “Boater’s Toolbox”, on February 7 from 10 am to 12 pm. Led by Capt. Jeff Bowen of The Sailing Academy, this seminar is designed for boaters of all experience levels. The seminar will cover docking, mooring, anchoring, gear, crew management, and essential boating safety best practices—skills you can use immediately on every outing. Seamanship - Feb. 21, 10 am - 12 pm

Herrington Harbour’s free online seminar, “Seamanship”, will be presented by Tate Westbrook, a USCG-licensed Master and retired U.S. Navy Commodore. This practical, safety-focused class covers critical real-world skills including man-overboard procedures, safety response at the helm, internal and external communications, essential onboard electronics, collision avoidance strategies, and effective anchoring techniques. Navigation - Feb. 21, 1 - 3 pm
Herrington Harbour’s free online seminar, “Navigation”, will be presented by Tate Westbrook, a USCG-licensed Master and retired U.S. Navy Commodore. The Navigation seminar will dive into modern navigation practices with updated content reflecting the latest changes in electronic navigation charts and apps. Topics include multiple methods for determining your position, proper setup and use of your boat’s navigation equipment, updated aids to navigation, and comprehensive voyage planning. Chesapeake Bay Boating Destinations & Anchorages - Feb. 28, 10 am - 12 pm

Herrington Harbour’s free online seminar, “Chesapeake Bay Destinations & Anchorages”, will be presented by The Herring Bay Yacht Club. Meet seasoned Bay captains who love to share their local knowledge. The seminar will cover the best boating destinations and the most breathtaking places to drop anchor. Boater Safety & Crew Management - March 7, 10 am - 12 pm

Herrington Harbour’s free online seminar, “Boater Safety & Crew Management”, will be presented by The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. They will cover updated boating safety procedures for boaters of all skill levels. This streamlined course will refresh and educate you on ways to keep you and your crew safe and boating for many years to come. A link to the live stream will be sent prior to the seminar.

Spring Commissioning Tips - March 14, 10 am - 12 pm

Herrington Harbour’s free online seminar, “Spring Commissioning Tips”, will be presented by Captain Frank Lanier. He will share expert spring commissioning tips to help you start spring safely and smoothly. Drawing on decades of on-the-water experience, he walks through the critical checks and pre-departure planning. A link to the live stream will be sent prior to the seminar.
