Herrington Harbour now pushes forward with important new developments; many are the first to be seen in the Chesapeake Bay area.

We have an aggressive policy of promoting cleaner environmental practices. Herrington Harbour works with our team of on-site contractors to bring the state-of-the-art to Bay boaters, allowing a greater variety of services and solutions, and we do it in a way that actually lessens the environmental impact on the Chesapeake.

I’ll give you a few examples. When we installed a new Travelift Well to accommodate very large boats, up to 75 ft. and 110,000 pounds, we also designed a system for recovering materials that would normally end up in the Bay when these boats are serviced. It has been part of our planning efforts to prevent any stress to the environment when we began working with the bigger boats.

A cutting-edge repair facility here at Herrington Harbour North,
Osprey Marine Composites, has installed a ‘Shave Pad’ which captures heavy paint particles and composite shavings for clean disposal."

What all of this means is that a wider range of boats can be brought here and worked on cleanly. Now, with acres of land storage and state-of-the art facilities, we are providing the level of services that are attracting boaters from all over the Eastern United States. And the best part, is that Herrington Harbour has the capacity to let boaters get the best service available, and by coming here, they’ll do their part in keeping our waterways clean."
