The Sailing Academy has a full summer of youth sailing camps planned for this year.
Dinghy Sailing Camps
Cost: $349 (10% discount for slipholders)
Young people learn how to sail on 14’ dinghies. The camp covers water safety, capsize recovery, rigging, terminology and basic sailing skills. The beach games and fun activities incorporated into the sailing instruction make our camps fun and exciting! No experience is necessary to attend the camps (except for Racing Camp).

Cruising Camps: Teen 5-day Live Aboard Sailing Trips

This cruising adventure departs from Herrington South at 9:45am sharp and runs to Sharps Island Lighthouse then to Tilghman Island.
There, you will board a comfortable bus to tour historic Tilghman Island with stops at the Tilghman Waterman’s Museum, Phillips Wharf Environmental Center, and Dogwood Harbor, home port to the last of the Skipjack oyster dredge boats.
Following the bus tour, you will visit St. Michaels for free time to visit the many fine shops and dining establishments. Discount tickets are available to visit the world famous Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum.
The vessel leaves Herrington South at 9:45am sharp and departs Tilghman Island 4:00pm with a return time to Herrington South at 4:45pm.
DATES: June 1, 15; July 6, 20; August 3, 17; September 7,21.

This year’s event will feature The Doug Segree Band, Orlando Phillips and The Fitzmaurice Band as well as a special guest appearance by the Washington Redskin Cheerleaders.

Experience a day in the early 1900’s. Visit our hard-working housewives, farmers, watermen and students as they perform their daily activities. Take a turn at the butter churn or the ice cream maker, talk with a tobacco farmer, learn to fish with a pound net, observe our housewives crocheting and candle wicking or attend a Beneficial Society meeting. Children, write with slates or pen and ink at the one room school, and play historic games with our young scholars. Refreshments by Herrington on the Bay Catering.

Bonfire on the Beach
The slipholder Bonfire Party will begin at 8pm in the Herring Bay Pavilion (East Side) on Saturday, June 12. Food and drinks will be provided with live entertainment by the Courtlyn Carr Band. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
